Thursday, March 6th, at just after 3:30 pm, Rebecca called me and told me that her water had just broken, and so she called Wes and told him he better come home from work. I was so excited I couldn't stand it. I had intended to get Becca a new nightgown for the hospital, but it was 20 days before his due date. I ran to the store, bought a nightgown, and Wes kept us updated with what was going on at the hospital, and 5 hours later, from the time Becca's water broke, Ethan was born. We then went to the hospital. I had told the kids, if Ethan was born on our anniversary, (March 7th) then he would be our favorite grandchild, and we would take him on vacations with us. Shane threw a huge fit, and said he would move out of state then, and I would never get to see 'those' grandchildren, and Emily said her kids then would love Brad's parents as their favorite grandparents, and not us. It was so much fun bugging them. They were a riot. Here he is less than 24 hours old. He is 5lbs 12 oz. and 18 inches long. Lots of very dark hair, and just a darling little guy. Wes can't keep from grinning when he looks at him. He honestly can't look at him without a smile. When Wes was trying to change his first diaper poop today, he took the diaper off, and Ethan's little legs flew around and put his little foot in the poop, and Wes didn't know what to do. Becca was laughing, as Wes got a cold wet wipe to wipe his eensy little bum, and the wipe was so cold it made him pee all over Wes. Becca was dying laughing she said.
Kim said that he now has 3 grand-boys, and all he needs is 2 more and he will have a basketball team. This is a happy day.
Oh he is so CUTE! Congrats to the new grandparents!
