Ava Jade Wyatt

Well, I want Emily to put Ava's first real pictures on her blog, and I don't want to spoil it for her. So I picked 2 pictures that I thought would be OK to put on.
Yesterday when we were at the hospital in the evening, she was down to 6lbs 5 oz, so she had lost a little bit of weight. She has some battle scars from being born, but she is a darling little baby. I realized how much she looks like Brad, or I should say, his little neice, Kenya. She is definately a 'Wyatt'. She has long feet! Emily's feet are small, but her's are long.
A scarey thing happened last night. She inhaled some milk that she spit up, and thank goodness the nurse was there. Brad said she was turning blue. She couldn't breathe. The nurse took her into the nursery and they tried getting the spit-up milk out of her lungs but couldn't. She had to have the anesthesiologist come and suck her lungs out again like when she was born. Brad said she was doing much better, and they took her back off of oxygen and let her come in Emily's room again. Emily was quite upset, as would be expected. This is only the beginning of times that Brad and Emily will have worries about Ava Jade, during her life. They now know what it feels like to worry about a child. She has to sleep in her bassinet on an angle now with her head up. Hopefully she will come home tonight.
Wes and Shane came about the same time to the hospital, and Shane took the most fun pictures of Ava Jade and Ethan looking at each other. Ethan wondered how there was a smaller person than him. Both daddies were holding their child in one picture, and it was so cute. I wish I had a copy of it. Life is good!

  1. Yay! I keep checking your blog for updates. I can't wait to see her in person. Poor Emily! I bet it was scary to have that happen. I can understand completely and it is no fun. Thanks for posting the pix!
